The Government Accountability Project (GAP) is the nation’s leading whistleblower protection and advocacy organization. GAP’s mission is to promote corporate and government accountability by protectingn whistleblowers, advancing occupational free speech, and empowering citizen activists. Located in Washington, D.C., GAP is a nonpartisan, public interest nonprofit organization.

GAP is offering a Litigation Internship for summer semester 2010 in its Washington, D.C. office.

Students serving as litigation interns will have the following primary responsibilities:
• Conducting legal research and writing in furtherance of drafting legal memoranda, briefing arguments for court pleadings and related documents.
• Assisting in the organization and formatting of evidence and discovery materials.
• Accompanying attorneys to local litigation matters such as depositions, hearings and mediation.
• Assisting litigation counsel with potential client intake interviews.
• Assisting litigation counsel with conducting fact-finding interviews with potential witnesses.
