This internship is intended to provide the candidate with exposure to the day-to-day activities of a corporate legal department and may include work in the following areas:
- Foreign Entity Maintenance – Assist in creating and organizing foreign subsidiary binders; assist attorney in processing various filings for the corporate entities; establishing electronic file set up for foreign subsidiaries; assist in completing data entry information for corporate directory file.
- Database and Electronic File Management – Scan and upload contracts into electronic and customer file systems; organize electronic and paper files.
- Patents – Integrate NetGen patents into NetScout patents; validate where original patents are located and update IP spreadsheet.

Responsibilities:
• Assist with diligence and documentation related to corporate transactions, including mergers & acquisitions and strategic investments.
• Conduct research and provide general support on projects as directed by corporate and litigation attorneys, and senior paralegal.

Summer ’10 – “Business Law Project Associate Summer Intern” – Millennium Pharmaceuticals; Cambridge, MA

Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company combines the innovative science of a leading American biopharmaceutical company with the global assets – both intellectual and fiscal – of Japan’s largest pharmaceutical company. We are focused exclusively in oncology to improve the treatment of cancer around the world.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with one or more projects within the Millennium Legal Department, supporting business law, intellectual property and/or compliance functions. Potential projects include:
- Review and summarize key terms of existing strategic collaboration and license agreements, and other supporting agreements. Update information in the e-contracts database as necessary.

Summer ’10 – “Legal Intern” – Brookfield Renewable Power, Inc.; Marlborough, MA

Brookfield Renewable Power Inc., wholly-owned by Brookfield Asset Management Inc., has more than
100 years of experience as an owner, operator and developer of hydroelectric power facilities. Its total
portfolio includes more than 160 generating facilities with approximately 4,000 megawatts of capacity. It
also has a significant hydroelectric and wind project pipeline. Brookfield Renewable Power’s operations are primarily located in North America and Brazil.

This summer intern position will assist the activities of the U.S. Corporate Legal Department of Brookfield Renewable Power.

Summer ’10 – “Contracted Legal Intern” – Department of Youth Services, Commonwealth of Massachusetts; Boston, MA

The DYS Legal Internship may include assisting DYS attorneys prepare projects, presentations, attend court hearings, attend depositions, attend meetings, gather information, conduct internal investigations, visit DYS facilities, participate in initiatives, review and comment on legislation, draft policies and regulations, and prepare or attend training programs.

The exact duties and experiences vary with each internship as the needs of the DYS General Counsel’s Office and DYS change from time to time.
