Fall ’10 – “Law Clerk Intern” – Level 3 Communications; Broomfield, CO

This position is responsible for legal support to the Legal and Public Policy Department. Responsibilities will include legal research, writing, database management and project coordination. Ideal candidate should be L2 law student and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess above-average computer skills and technical ability. This law clerk position is available part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer.

Fall ’10 – “Law Interns” – 18th Judicial District, Colorado State Judicial Branch; Centennial, CO

The judges and magistrates of the 18th Judicial District (Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln counties) are currently accepting applications for law student interns for the fall semester. Interns will gain valuable experience reviewing motions, conducting legal research, drafting orders, being bailiffs for jury trials, and observing various trials and proceedings in all areas of law. Interns will also be able to attend tours of various correctional facilities while here. Internships can be for credit through school or on a volunteer basis.

Summer ’10 – “Student / Intern” – Oracle; Broomfield, CO

Candidate must have a B.A. or B.S. degree and be in their first or second year of law school. Prior legal experience and technical background preferred.

Provides assistance and research to a district court judge in the Colorado Judicial Department.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
- Researches, studies, and annotates laws, court decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, and related legal authorities to process suits, trials, hearings, appeals, and other litigated matters.
- Reads and digests opinions, briefs, and motions and extracts excerpts pertinent to points of law and fact.
- Prepares briefs, legal memoranda, and statement of issues involved in a case, including appropriate suggestions or recommendations to the judge.

Our Denver, Colorado office is looking for a Legal Intern to work on a part-time basis (5-15 hours per week) during the summer months of May-August/September. The interns primary responsibilities will include legal research for Anthem/WellPoint attorneys among other projects.
