Fall ’10 – “Public Policy Legal Intern” – Comcast; Washington, DC

Comcast Corporation’s Washington, DC office is looking for a part-time law student intern to support the Public Policy group in Fall 2010. The position involves research and writing on public policy issues including cable, Internet, voice, wireless, and content. The intern can expect to prepare briefing memos, talking points, comment summaries, and other written material, and may have opportunities to attend conferences, hearings and events outside of the office.

Fall ’10 – “Legal Interns” – Discovery Communications; Silver Spring, MD

Discovery Legal is responsible for handling all of Discovery’s business and legal issues in the areas of programming, production, talent, rights, human resources, retail, licensing, corporate communications, trademarks, corporate matters, finance, tax, real estate, advertising sales, IT, technology, education, sweepstakes, affiliate, and administrative matters. You’ll be exposed to all areas of the business through a solid foundation of learning through training and work experience. As a Legal intern, some of the things you can expect to do include:
1) Prepare first drafts of various types of contracts and amendments
2) Review production and programming agreements and licenses
3) Analyze rights requests
4) Conduct legal research on documents, agreements and industry trade related journals and current cases and review rough cuts of productions
5) Attend project and staff meetings and present updates on current case law affecting the entertainment industry and other industry trends
