Summer ’11 – “Intern” – Allstate Insurance Co.; Northbrook, IL

Allstate Insurance Company located in Northbrook, Illinois is posting for Summer Intern positions in its Law & Regulation Department. The position will assign interns to two 5-week rotations among the multiple law divisions. The possible rotation opportunities can include Dispute Resolution Services, Corporate Governance, Financial Law, Investment Law, and Protection Law. The responsibilities of the intern position include, among other things, research and preparation of legal memoranda and oral presentations under the supervision of a licensed Allstate attorney.

Fall ’10 – “Law Clerk” – First National of Nebraska, Inc.; Omaha, NE

Provide support to a legal department of five attorneys by conducting research and reviewing and preparing documents. Research includes state and federal laws and regulations that govern national and state banks, financial holding companies and various corporate entities. Document review and preparation includes contracts, corporate resolutions, state and federal filings and others.

Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on various legal issues. Review and interpret contracts. Provide other support to legal department in the areas of corporate law, banking, contracts, corporate governance, litigation and compliance.

This internship is intended to provide the candidate with exposure to the day-to-day activities of a corporate legal department and may include work in the following areas:
- Foreign Entity Maintenance – Assist in creating and organizing foreign subsidiary binders; assist attorney in processing various filings for the corporate entities; establishing electronic file set up for foreign subsidiaries; assist in completing data entry information for corporate directory file.
- Database and Electronic File Management – Scan and upload contracts into electronic and customer file systems; organize electronic and paper files.
- Patents – Integrate NetGen patents into NetScout patents; validate where original patents are located and update IP spreadsheet.

FINRA is currently seeking a talented individual with strong academic credentials for our Fall 2010 Legal Intern position in the Washington DC office.

Internship in the legal department of a public enterprise software company.​ Intern may work on projects including corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, licensing, intellectual property, labor and employment or corporate securities.​ There are six attorneys in the Palo Alto office with expertise ranging from software licensing, corporate securities, intellectual property and labor & employment.​ Projects will be based on intern’s interests and current activity in the department.​
