Fall ’10 – “Fall Internship- Intellectual Property” – Fox Filmed Entertainment; Los Angeles, CA

The Fox Group Legal Intellectual Property Department is the corporate legal department responsible for intellectual property registration, enforcement and litigation for all Fox companies worldwide. The intern will work in the IP department on various issues including IP claims and litigation, Internet enforcement, trademark prosecution, oppositions and cancellations, anti-counterfeiting and copyright and evidence of use research.

The objective of the internship would be to gain an understanding of the work of an in-house IP group. Specifically to gain a greater understanding of various IP issues including IP claims and litigation, Internet enforcement, trademark prosecution, oppositions and cancellations, anti-counterfeiting and copyright. Assignments will include drafting responses to PTO Official actions, drafting affidavits for opposition proceedings, researching potential claims asserted either by or against Fox.

Eastman Kodak Company currently has an outstanding opportunity for a Patent Law Intern to join the Inkjet Printing Solutions group. The Patent Law Intern will be working with scientists and engineers of the Inkjet Printing Solutions group and patent attorneys of the Kodak Patent Legal department. Fall ’10 – “Internship- Content Protection” – Fox Entertainment; Los Angeles, CA

Twentieth Century Fox seeks J.D. and L.L.M. candidates for internship positions in its Content Protection group. Our department of attorneys and other legal professionals oversees the protection of Fox television (e.g. The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Glee) and film (e.g. Avatar; Date Night and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), content against the pervasive and ever-evolving threat of piracy. There is a particular emphasis on combating copyright infringement occurring in online environments such as user-generated content sites like YouTube or peer-to-peer networks. Interns will participate in the monitoring of and enforcement against such piracy, including conducting detailed copyright infringement and fair use analyses; identifying and researching litigation targets, and searching the internet for infringing copies of Fox content. Familiarity with basic principles of Copyright Law and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is a plus.

Summer ’11 – “Intellectual Property Intern” – Procter & Gamble (P&G); Cincinnati, OH

The Intellectual Property Division plays a vital role in protecting our international investment in intellectual property. We are very proud of our summer program. Our interns are working with us typically the summer prior to their final year in law school. Our interns are assigned both a supervisor and a mentor to help them on-board quickly and have an opportunity to see corporate life and quickly gain hands-on experience. Each intern is given a variety of assignments to allow them the opportunity to understand the scope of the work we do. The duties our interns complete during their summer include: patentability opinion, 2 responses, patent application draft, set of claims, and a final presentation at the end of the summer on a topic related to their work.

Fall ’10 – “Trademark, Energy & Environmental Legal Internship” – Center for Resource Solutions; San Francisco, CA

Prior legal interns have helped to draft letters to the California Air Resources Board and filings to the California Public Utilities Commission, attended regulatory proceedings and industry conferences, written internal memos on sustainable forestry and biomass, observed contract negotiations, helped to index the organization’s intellectual property, presented to the organization on intellectual property fundamentals, and drafted a memo on copyright issues. Students/graduates with an interest in trademarks, contracts, renewable energy policy, consumer protection, and environmental policy are encouraged to apply.

Fall ’10 – “Fall Intern Credit” – Sony Pictures Television, International Networks, Business Affairs; Culver City, CA

The Sony Pictures Television, International Networks—Business Affairs law intern will work alongside the Executive Directors and Directors of the Business Affairs team to work with Sony’s international networks and complete many tasks related to the nature of Business Affairs. Duties will include, but not limited to, supporting attorneys with licensing agreements, as well as the possibility of analyzing, drafting and negotiating agreements under the supervision of an attorney. The intern will gain contract knowledge through inputting and updating Business Affairs documentation such as contracts, deal memos, and format agreements into our database. The intern will also be given the opportunity to interact with clients by communicating with Program Directors and Licensors around the world.

The Theatrical Legal Affairs Department of Twentieth Century Fox is currently looking for an intern! To be considered you must be a student currently enrolled in school.

Fox Legal Production encompasses Legal Casting, Legal Contracts, Script Clearances, Legal Marketing, Titles & Credits and handles the day to day needs of feature film Productions.

Current projects and tasks that will be assigned to the intern(s):
- Process paperwork for feature film casting so that talent is paid
- Provide research support for Script Clearance using various databases.
- Proof reading and management of titles and credits documents to assure compliance are met.
- Track contracts to assure all necessary obligations are met

Spring ’11 & Summer ’11 – “Intern, Legal Spring and Summer 2011″ – Chanel, Inc.; New York City

Chanel Inc. currently has an internship opportunity in it’s Legal department for the Spring and Summer 2011 semesters. The intern must be able to commit for two consecutive semesters. The hours will be a minimum of 12 hours per week in the Spring semester and a minimum of 35 hours per week in the Summer semester. The internship is for school credit and proof of credit will be required.

The intern will assist the Legal department in a wide variety of legal issues, including researching law to assisting in the preparation of contracts and cease and desist letters. There will be a variety of work in the fields of intellectual property, labor and employment, and real estate law.
