Performs, in accordance with established policies and procedures, a variety of duties to assist compliance personnel and attorneys to whom assigned. Observes strictest confidentiality in all matters. Manages and assists with aspects of (a) monitoring and reviewing regulatory and legislative changes affecting applicable insurance products and producers, (b) preparing the company’s response to regulatory issues, changes and confirming implementation of necessary changes, (c) legal research, (d) assist in developing monitoring and assessment tools for compliance function, (e) use developed tools to assess and indentify compliance risks, (f) the oversight of business and financial processes from a regulatory compliance standpoint, (g) civil and administrative litigation and (h) corporate maintenance and other legal matters. Winter ’10 – “NAPABA-PRUDENTIAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM” – National Asian Pacific American Bar Association; Newark, NJ

The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) is pleased to announce a partnership with Prudential Financial, Inc. (Prudential) to provide a meaningful fellowship opportunity to a highly-motivated recent law school graduate. Through this partnership, NAPABA will select a 2010 law school graduate to join the Prudential Law Department as the NAPABA-Prudential Law Fellow.

The Fellow will work full-time for 18 months in Prudential’s Newark, NJ, offices beginning on December 1, 2010. During this time, the fellow may work in up to three Law Department divisions, which may include the Insurance, Investments, Litigation/Regulatory, Corporate Governance, Mergers & Acquisitions, Employment & Labor, Employee Benefits and International divisions. The Fellow will be paid an annual salary of US$60,000 with benefits. The Fellow will be expected to seek employment outside of the Prudential Law Department after the end of the fellowship.
