The Department of Legal Services is charged with the responsibility of facilitating the conduct of business in a legally sound and efficient manner, protecting the resources of the Medical Center and performing the duties of loss prevention, claims management, and risk financing. The successful candidate will become familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member.

This is a one year Special A Term position beginning August 30, 2010 through June 30, 2011. Working under the direct supervision of staff attorneys, the Legal Fellow will be responsible for: 1) Becoming acquainted with the issues associated with the employment of physicians and other health care personnel; and 2) Preparing and reviewing contracts on behalf of the OSU Medical Center related to the employment of physicians and other health care personnel.

The Attorney-Generalist provides support to Legal managers who are providing legal service to various Company departments as they carry out the Company's business activities. Among other matters, the Attorney-Generalist researches and analyzes legal issues, supports Legal managers as they provide advice on advertising and marketing issues, drafts legal memoranda, drafts agreements, supports execution of corporate transactions, investigates and helps respond to government agency inquiries, maintains corporate records, interacts with other Company departments, and interfaces with business associates.

Entry-level position. Must have either passed Ohio bar examination or be able to have Ohio bar license within 6 months of hire.
